News Transcript

 FRHSD All-District basketball team

Haley Unger heads up the News Transcript’s 2014 All-FRHSD Girls Basketball Team. Completing the First Team with the Marlboro center are Freehold Twp's Sam Famulare, Freehold's Rebecca Cobb, Colts Neck’s Lauren Zborovancik and Manalapan’s Sam Meier.

Second Team members are Colts Neck’s Looney, Lindsey Bosland and Kaity Healy; Marlboro’s Nicole Shatsky; Freehold Township’s Wagner; Howell High School’s Gabby Greene; and Manalapan’s Kelly McNulty.

Despite graduating the nucleus of its NJSIAA Central Jersey Group III championship team, the Colonials were back in the postseason, led by holdover Rebecca Cobb. The Colonials threw a first-round scare into Marlboro before bowing out, 31-28.

Despite the bulk of the 2013 Colonials team that won the Central Jersey Group III title having graduated, Freehold was back in the postseason thanks to the play of forward Cobb. The junior averaged 15.5 points and 8.6 rebounds per game for the Colonials. The Shore coaches named her to the All-B North First Team.

Student-athletes who have earned All- FRHSD honorable mention recognition for their performances during the 2013-14 season are Freehold’s Sophia Duffy, Freehold Township’s Taylor Devlin, Manalapan’s Catherine Traina and Marlboro’s Tatum Evans.
