Coach of the year: Jennifer Brzucki piloted Freehold Borough to the best record in school history at 23-6 and its first NJSIAA sectional championship, with a 53-48 triumph over Neptune in the Central Jersey, Group 3 final. She picked up her 100th career victory along the way and is 112-66 in seven years at the helm.

Milestones: Middletown North coach Ed Jones joined Ranney's Moriau in the 400-victory club. ... Tara Inman is Holmdel's all-time leading scorer with 1,658 career points. ... Freehold Township coach John Sciarappa earned his 450th career victory this season. ... Ivy Harrington of Neptune and Camerin Spahn and Kim Dana of Freehold Borough all surpassed the 1,000-point mark for their careers. ... Red Bank Catholic coach Joe Montano earned the 500th victory of his career.

State showcase: The county went 36-20 in the state tournament and had a group champion in Red Bank Catholic (Non-Public A), three sectional champions in Rumson (Central Jersey, Group 2), Freehold Borough (Central Jersey, Group 3) and Red Bank Catholic (South Jersey, Non-Public A) and two sectional runners-up in Shore Regional (Central Jersey, Group 1) and Neptune (Central Jersey, Group 3).
